AMERICAN COLLEGE of MEDICAL PRACTICE EXECUTIVES (ACMPE)

ACMPE FORUM REPRESENTATIVE: Samantha Stallings, MHA, CMPE (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. )

CERTIFICATION:

As your ACMPE Rep, I am here to help you!   I decided to become board certified because I constantly want to grow my knowledge and enhance my professional status in the healthcare field.   I highly encourage you all to consider going through the process because it will give you a solid foundation as an expert in the field of practice operations.   It will also validate your expertise to the physicians, executives, industry professionals and peers you work with every day.  You are already doing the job, so why not get a professional certification to help advance your career?

I recently took the exam in February 2016, and I understand how important it is to know all the details of the examination process.  I collected tips from others who passed the exam along the way, and I want to share those with you!  As the South Carolina Rep, I will post updates to exam information right here on this webpage for your review.  I also invite you to attend the ACMPE pre-conference session at SCMGMA’s annual conference in Charleston this year to collect more information and meet other members going through this journey.   In the meantime, feel free to email me with your questions or concerns to This email address is being protected from spambots. ACMPE Enhancements

Scenario-Based ExamThe Exam Development Committee has designed an objectively scored, scenario-based exam to replace the current essay exam. This new exam will fully replace the essay exam in September 2017, the multiple-choice exam will stay as is. Updates to note:

    • The new exam will consist of 18-25 scenarios, each followed by three to four questions that focus on critical skills/knowledge a candidate would be expected to show in the described situation. The 90 questions are presented as multi-select, multiple choice, short answer, or drag and drop matching.

Eligibility Requirements - As of January 2019, the qualifications to apply for ACMPE certification will change. In addition to requiring two years of healthcare experience, and six months in a supervisory role, applicants will be required to hold a bachelor’s degree or 120 college credit hours upon applying.
